Tires are an innovative and sustainable resource for energy production. As a valuable feedstock, used tires can be converted into energy through processes such as tire-derived fuel (TDF), pyrolysis, and gasification, providing a renewable energy source that also addresses environmental challenges.
Used tires can be shredded and burned as an alternative fuel in industrial boilers, cement kilns, and power plants. TDF offers a high energy content, with one ton of TDF providing as much energy as 12 gallons of oil. This process helps reduce the dependency on fossil fuels and repurposes tires that would otherwise end up in landfills.
